As a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure Engineering R&D team, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining one of the largest real-time high-scale operations in the world. You’ll have end-to-end ownership over our services, collaborating with a team of bright software engineers to directly influence how billions of people discover the internet.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• 5+ years experience with Java or equivalent Object-Oriented language

• Deep expertise in distributed systems at scale

• Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, multithreading)

• Production experience with SQL/NoSQL databases

• Proficiency in Linux environments

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with Big Data tools

• Knowledge of machine learning concepts

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll bring value by:

• Develop and maintain one of the largest real-time high-scale operations in the world, supporting over 1.4B users and >500,000 requests per second, with 150TB of new data every day

• Own the end-to-end process: design, develop, deploy, measure, and maintain our services

• Solving complex framework-level production challenges

• Roll out custom solutions such as Cassandra compaction strategy, Kafka consumer, and metrics pipeline Implement anomaly detection engines and authentication services

• Developing anomaly detection and authentication services

• Collaborating with top engineers who contribute to open-source projects
