What is the key purpose of a Managing Director – Large Enterprise? 

Reporting to the VP, North America, the Managing Director, US – Large Enterprise (covering both brands and the agencies that serve them), is a pivotal role in the journey of Taboola’s explosive US growth trajectory. As Taboola’s enterprise business matures well beyond its “start-up” phase of a dozen years ago, the inflection point the business is now at requires a senior, client-facing, industry-recognized senior executive to show Taboola, its large enterprise clients and their agencies, the way forward. And why the platform, its performance, measurement, service and technology is industry-leading and a “must-buy” for their marketing and media mix.

What will I be doing on a day-to-day basis?

  • External Responsibilities (70%):
    • Be an inspiring leader of the Large Enterprise group, showing the team the way forward by building and maintaining strong relationships with Taboola’s largest, most senior clients and the agencies that serve them
    • Able to conceptualize, articulate and develop compelling brand, marketing and digital strategies and is a master storyteller to influence the world’s best known brands and the big HoldCo agencies that partner with themImprove client retention and satisfaction, oversee the resolution of complex client issues and negotiate high-value deals​​Ensure we are able to creatively and intelligently hit our clients’ KPI’s and extract as much from each opportunity as possible
    • Attend strategic client meetings to ensure you are leading from the front, and deeply understanding the day to day of client-seller-AM interaction
    • Represent Taboola as a senior leader at industry events, and look for opportunities to increase Taboola’s presence as an industry advisor
    • Be a strategic, visionary, creative mind that can see around corners, anticipate industry trends or headwinds, is a bellwether for the adtech, marketing, advertising and digital media industry,
  • Internal Responsibilities (30%):
    • Own the performance advertising business for the US which will include the development and execution of short- and long-term sales strategies to grow revenue and build up client base
    • Work with product marketing to refine our product story and implement best sales enablement practices
    • Meet and exceed revenue targets for the territory and help ensure that team members are equipped to meet and exceed their targets through management support, sales skills, product knowledge, and process improvement
    • Recruit, hire, develop and inspire a world class sales and account management team, from mid entry-level to experienced managers
    • Represent Large Enterprise Sales at global and leadership meetings, regional reviews
    • Serve as an escalation point for key customer issues and opportunities
    • Collect, consolidate and channel customer feedback to appropriate channels; collaborate with product, marketing, sales, professional services and business operations teams
    • Champion simplification as a way of addressing inefficiencies in processes and systems and structures and contribute to the development of scalable, standardized ways of working
    • Build an inclusive culture, lead by example and challenge others if they inhibit this

What skills and qualifications do I need?

For this role it is essential that you have:

  • An experienced leader with a minimum of 15 years experience in sales, account management, or similar commercial function and 10+ years experience managing and developing multi-faceted teams
  • Will have carried a revenue quota previously and will have a demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding these targets
  • You must have experience as a leader within tech, and have a comprehensive knowledge of the digital media landscape, including branding and performance
  • Comfortable with analytics platforms, and the ability to use data to tell the story and leverage data to create strategies
  • Deep understanding of the martech/adtech, digital and advertising/media landscape, trends and issues globally and in the US, being able to intelligently lead conversations, presentations and keynote addresses with confidence in front of senior and/or large audiences
  • Strong understanding of clients’ businesses, including current and future objectives
  • Track record of reaching, and overachieving on KPI’s and revenue targets. Confident in working to (and beating) revenue targets and clear KPI’s
  • Experience building business cases, working to reach internal consensus, using data strategically
  • Experience building out strategies to engage with clients, win new and grow existing client relationships, and documenting processes to template for future
  • Exceptional at people development, demonstrating the ability to inspire, develop and get the very best out of team members at varying levels (entry level to Director level)
  • Proven track record of scaling sales teams and revenue
  • Willingness to travel domestically 50%+ of the time

  • Key relationships leader for current and prospective Large Enterprise clients and the senior agency leaders that serve their brands and business
  • Focusing the teams on winning new logos, land and expand, growing and retaining premium demand
  • Driving alignment, clear R&R, and strategic focus with the Sales & AM teams
  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent 
  • Establishing key metrics, reporting, and aligned incentives across the Large Enterprise business
    • I.e. ICP adoption, premium supply, scaling performance demand, improving content quality across the US network, driving verticalized success, JBAs
  • Increased face time with clients at the CMO/VP/Director level (new/existing)
  • Delegating and empowering your managers to be more autonomous and partner on regional strategy
  • Partnering with other internal stakeholders to ensure teams and advertisers have what they need to succeed
  • Leading a two-vertical pilot to ultimate success, ensuring teams build verticalized knowledge, expertise, brand and consumer understanding to ensure the pilots are a huge success

The pay range for this position in New York is $240,000 - $270,000. This role is also eligible to participate in Taboola’s commission plan under which you might be eligible for total on-target earnings of $400,000 - $450,000 in accordance with such plan. The pay and commission offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We may offer several perks as part of the compensation package that include a discretionary bonus, equity, flexible PTO, medical/dental/vision insurance, a competitive 401(k) match, paid parental leave, etc.
