What is the key purpose of an Advertising Sales Team Lead?

As an Advertising Sales Team Lead based in Turkey, you will join our expanding MENA team and focus on cultivating and managing long-term strategic partnerships with Tier 1 Brands and agencies across the country. 

As a proactive and valued individual, you will drive Taboola’s growth by showcasing the potential of our platform within both direct client and agency accounts. Success in this role relies on effective prospecting, networking, pipeline development, new client acquisition and activation, client retention and growth, and consistently achieving ambitious revenue targets. You will thrive in a matrixed environment, working alongside a skilled team of account managers, media planners, creative strategists, and will report to the Country Manager.

What skills and qualifications do I need?

Responsibilities:

– Generate new business, maintain a strong sales pipeline, and accurately forecast closure rates.

– Understand client organizations and promote various Taboola products by engaging the appropriate stakeholders.

– Develop a comprehensive understanding of digital technology, video, and the revenue landscape to articulate product benefits effectively.

– Collaborate with the Country Manager to consistently meet and surpass revenue goals.

– Partner with the Account Management team to manage client expectations and ensure successful campaign delivery.

– Work with the project implementation team to oversee the successful integration of our products and technology.

– Maintain long-term client relationships in collaboration with Account Managers and relay client feedback for product development.

– Support the growth of the sales team in Turkey and mentor team members.

– Become a senior figure in the Istanbul office, act as office lead. 

Requirements:

– Proven track record in a senior sales position, preferably selling solutions to clients.

– Experience in directly managing, recruiting, and developing a sales team.

– Significant experience in structuring and negotiating deals, especially in digital media, is highly advantageous.

– Experience mentoring salespeople and guiding them to high performance.

– Ability to independently build, pursue, and close an extensive pipeline of leads.

– Technologically savvy, with the capability to ensure successful deal implementation and optimization.

– Skilled in fostering a strong sales culture and promoting team camaraderie.

– Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt quickly.

– Essential for this role:

– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

– 6+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, or business development in the digital advertising industry.

– Bilingualism (Concise in English and native Turkish).

– Existing connections with planning teams and decision-makers at Tier I agencies.

– Deep knowledge of advertising, media, and technology.

– Strong business acumen with effective communication skills.

– Emotional intelligence, professionalism, and perseverance.

– Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.

– Proficiency in navigating internal (Taboola) and external (client) communications.

– Experience with Salesforce (or similar CRM systems) and related productivity tools.
